We are a small hobby kennel in North Central Texas, dedicated to producing sound English-type Labradors for show, field, and family companions. Our deepest conviction is for Labradors to always be Retrievers, so maintaining the integrity of the hunting instinct is paramount to our breeding program.

I began in Labradors in the early '80s, then paused showing and breeding to pursue my career. The dogs themselves, however, stayed with me. My husband, an obedience trainer, and I started BearPaw with the new millennium.

All of our dogs come from established show lines of English type, and compete in the breed ring, hunt tests, and obedience. Many of them are certified through Therapy Dogs International, and work as therapy dogs as well. Most importantly, our dogs are members of our family. Along with our lovely young girls, the old-age pensioners keep our feet and our hearts warm.
